About the Artist

Well, well, well! Look who’s stumbled upon the ultimate page for a Leo—the About Me section!

Hey there, I’m Laura Thurston, a photographer, storyteller, and creative explorer based in Long Island, New York. With 15 years behind the lens, I specialize in documentary and storytelling photography, capturing real moments that connect and inspire.

My journey started in a portrait studio, where I mastered the art of lighting, composition, and bringing out the best in every subject. After earning Top Photographer two years in a row, I felt the pull to explore new horizons—literally. That’s when I found myself soaring in helicopters, capturing aerial photography and uncovering the hidden beauty of small-town America.

From the skies to the ground, my creativity knows no bounds. I became a Part 107-certified drone pilot, ventured into spray paint art, watercolors, and pastels, and even launched a YouTube channel to share visual stories in motion. My artistic curiosity fuels everything I do, blending photography, painting, and digital media to create meaningful, evocative work.

Beyond photography, I’m also a self-published author of Grams Told Me So, a heartfelt exploration of wisdom, love, and traditions.

Thanks for stopping by—let’s create something unforgettable together!
